I’m a 34 year old mom of two children, ages 4 and 6. I participated in my first triathlon in 2016. I have been running for about 15 years and in my youth participated in mountain biking and various other team sports.
In 2015, I fractured my pelvis while training for a marathon. This led me to learn how to swim and became active in cycling again. Once I could run again almost 10 months later, I figured why not try to put all three together and the rest is history!
I have a busy full time job as a Technical Business Consultant and I find that training helps me manage stress and have social time with friends while enjoying the outdoors.
I have competed in all the triathlon distances, including winning my age group in the 2017 Nationals for sprint distance. However, my preference is for long course, and I really love the half iron distance. I completed my first full Ironman in October 2017, and found the Barrelman race to fit in amazingly with my training.
I am really honoured to be an ambassador for the event and hope to inspire more people join this amazing sport!
