I am a 42 year old wife, mother, teacher, and coach. I have been married for 15 years. My husband is one of the people in my life that challenges and encourages me to train for and race the variety of running and multisport races that we do. We have two daughters that inspire me every day with their dedication to swimming and running. I try to be a good role model for them, but I can always learn from the hard work and positive attitude both of my children have for their sports. I am a middle school teacher, swim coach, and adult/youth beginner triathlon coach. I love being able to help others succeed whether it is in the classroom, in the pool, or out on the roads.
I have been competing in triathlon since 2003, starting with a sprint triathlon relay. From that day, my husband and I fell in love with the sport. Since that time, we have competed in triathlons ranging from sprint distance to Ironman distance. One of the things I love best about the sport of triathlon is the great community of athletes you encounter at every race.
Being selected as a Barrelman Ambassador is an honor. This will be my third Barrelman triathlon. My husband and I keep returning to this race because of the beauty of the course, the professionalism of Multisport Canada, and the support of the athletes and community in and around Niagara Falls.
